I did something very very wrong.. I took MONEY from a known REPUBLICAN. In fact, an evangelical Republican who I disagreed with on pretty much everything. I know this will now disqualify me for ever running for public office, and I will have to hide my head in shame for years to come.

See how stupid that sounds?
On a previous comment I made reference to the fact that I don’t care about Hillary’s speech fees to the banking and investment industry. And I don’t. It’s a very silly argument to make.
The republican I mentioned above? My former boss. For four years until June of this year I worked for a largish Cardiology medical group as their IT Manager. I built the department from scratch, before I left this year due to a combination of burnout (90 hour weeks for months at a time when you’ve got young kids and are married is just to much.) and pay. While I got paid, it was under scale, and they weren’t willing to budge, so I left.
But I took that dirty evil Republican Money. Spent it to. Invested some. Took the family to Disney, even.. gasp.. donated some.
Does this now disqualify me from running for public office? School Board? County Commissioner? After all, if that medical group wants the commission to change something, the fact that I took MONEY from them means I’m horribly tainted, right? Right?
